After several false starts to my holiday in Spain due to ash cloud we finally got there in June. The first few days were great and then torrental rain, rain like I’d never seen before, for 3 days solid then ending in fantastic sunshine. All in all perhaps we should have saved our money until next year.

I have been to several Mediterranean countries and in my opinion holiday in Turkey is one of the cheapest options. It is also probably the safest possibility of visiting Middle East.
Quite interesting is that in Turkey you will find monumets of history and remains od several other nations and ancient civilizations.
And like almost everywhere in Medterranean, its cuisine and drinks are really worth tasting.

I have just received a reminder to pay the balance of my holiday costs. This has arrived after the volcano news. I wonder if i will be covered if the holiday is cancelled as I knew about the risk when paying the balance.
